Many Mi-Ki fanciers are very anxious to see the breed enter the AKC ring, but very few, or next to none of them know about their obligations under AKC rules and regulations. So we feel it is necessary to let our Mi-Ki people in on the very stick rules that will apply to each and every person, who will breed their Mi-Ki dogs if AKC accepts our breed.
A Few of AKC's Rules
1. Each Person who breeds, must expect an UNANNOUNCED visit from an AKC represenative.
2. Each Person is obligated to submit to an inspection,no matter what time of day it is. If you refuse to let the AKC rep in for an inspection, you will be suspended from AKC. What this means, is that you can no longer register your dogs with AKC or show your dogs with AKC. You will also be levied a very large fine, and suspended for a quite a few years.
3. During the inspection: You must provide all of your breeding records, who was bred to who, on what date they were bred, the whelping date, the sire and dam, the number of puppies produced, the ID of each dog, either by tatoo, or micro chip. You must also provide the names addresses and phone numbers of each puppy you sold or placed.
4. You mustshow proofthat you are meeting not only your states rules applying to the way your dogs are housed, but also to your cities rules applying to the LEGAL number of dogs you have in your home. Today many cities, and even unincorporated towns now limit a household to THREE adult dogs.I again will remind everyone that their inspections are always unannounced.
5. You must also DNA, at your espense, each and every male who has been used at stud three times.
6. The AKC inspector, can also demand ( at your expense ) that DNA be taken on any given litter, along with the sire's DNA. The AKC inspector will collect these DNA Samples ( at your expense ), and will then have the entire litter submitted for Proof of Parentage. The collected samples never leave the possession of the AKC inspector. The AKC inspector submits the samples, not to you or your vet. If, any puppy or the sire Don't Pass, ALL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE PULLED, and they can then revisit you and DNA everything you have bred in the past.
Don't Think They Won't Visit You, Because They Will !
Will You Be Ready?
ARE WE PRO OR CON TO AKC ?
For every person concerned with this subject, the MCOA (Mi-Ki Club of America), wishes to acknowledge that we are favorable to AKC, and we are in the process to procure, and bring about the recognition of the Mi-Ki. We find that the same persons that we brought to your attention on our site, as persons involved in convincing the IABCA to change the accepted breed standard, and exhibit a Mi-Ki with a disqualification of eye coloring, see fit to have now taken another vindictive role, buy posting on a yahoo group, trying to force upon others their own personal agenda, and opinions, in a less than honorable procurement of facts. We find that their efforts are fruitless, and these people are only showing their hidden agendas. Our organization stands on it's world wide recognition as the "mother club" and will continue it's process, to procure full recognition of our breed.
For those of you who do not understand this entire process, we wish to inform you that recognition of any rare breed dog, is a long and tedious road, and some people who hold a personal agenda that is vendictive, will find themselves left on the way side, because NO ONE wants unrest to be at the forefront. So we want to express to everyone that there is NO PLACE for persons who want to inject strife and heartaches into our goal towards recognition. Ignore the few who take this road. They are not welcome.
